Strongest throwing arms in Chiefs history

1. Patrick Mahomes

Not only is Patrick Mahomes the top quarterback in Chiefs history, but he was also blessed with the strongest arm. Mahomes can throw under-hand, sidearm, and left-handed. He is dynamic and the best player in the NFL. This spot undoubtedly belongs to Mahomes, who may have one of the strongest arms in NFL history.

2. Joe Montana

Even though Montana was an old man by the time he got to Kansas City, he trails only Mahomes in this category. Montana could zip passes to the sideline on a rope as well as fire a deep pass 45+ yards downfield with relative ease. Montana was not blessed with the same talent in K.C. that he had with the 49ers and was not quite the same player. That being said, his arm strength was still admirable in his two-year stint with the Chiefs.

3. Warren Moon

Warren Moon is often forgotten in Chiefs history. This is because of his age when he played there. When he arrived in Kansas City, he was 43 but that does not diminish his arm talent. Although he only made one official start, Moon was known for having a cannon throughout his career. This puts Moon at number three on the list.

4. Dave Krieg

Dave Krieg is another name that is often lost in Chiefs history. In the 1992-1993 seasons, Krieg came to Kansas City from Seattle to be the Kansas City starter. In 1992, Krieg led the league in yards per completion; averaging 13.5 yards per completion. Krieg was a top-notch player in the regular season but was ultimately let go after a poor performance in a playoff game. Nonetheless, Krieg was capable of stretching the field, despite how unpredictably he played.

5. Brodie Croyle

Croyle was hot garbage in the NFL. There is no doubt about that. Notice that this is not a list of the best quarterbacks in Chiefs history. Rather, it is a list of dudes with strong arms. That is exactly what Croyle was: just a dude with a strong arm. Croyle once threw a 55-yard bullet to Tyrone Prothro at Alabama. While his career was bad in Kansas City, that does not take away from his arm strength.
