Harrison Butker, K

Position Rank: 2

Average Draft Position: second-to-last round or last round

Explanation: Harrison Butker is arguably the best kicker in the league, but my rankings have him as the second best behind Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens.

Butker has proven to be an incredible kicker to have on your fantasy team due to the Chiefs’ high scoring offense. When it comes to drafting a kicker, there are two things you need to consider: first, you need to draft a kicker who can hit the field goals and extra points at a high percentage. Second, you need to draft a kicker who is going to have opportunities to hit those extra points and field goals which means drafting kickers on a high scoring offense.

Looking at Butker’s season in the NFL, you get a sense of his consistent fantasy productivity.

  • 2017: 28/28 XP, 38/42 FG
  • 2018: 65/69 XP, 24/27 FG
  • 2019: 45/48 XP, 34/38 FG
  • 2020: 48/54 XP, 25/27 FG

As you can see by looking at the stats above, Butker is extremely accurate. Chiefs fans won’t be surprised to see those numbers, but the average NFL fan might be shocked at how good Butker is. Mixed in with the Chiefs offense, Butker is going to make for big fantasy seasons each and every season.

When it comes to drafting a kicker, it’s important to fill out the depth of positional players first, but if Butker is there at the end of the draft, he should be a primary target.
