The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Arizona Cardinals on Friday. We’ve got a prediction plus the odds, injury report, live stream, and TV info for you.

Coming off of a 19-17 win in the preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers, the K.C. Chiefs are hoping that another preseason road game can serve as another showcase for just how deep and talented their lines are looking after both the offensive and defensive fronts served up promising efforts at Levi’s Stadium.

The Arizona Cardinals are hosting the Chiefs in the preseason’s second week, which means fans will get at least a glimpse of Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green and company. The offensive potential here would have even the most casual NFL fans excited if this were a real game. However after the first series or two, fans are more likely to see Chad Henne heroics than anything else.

Last Friday, the Cardinals held off the Dallas Cowboys for a three-point victory in their first preseason game and come into 2021 with similar hopes as the Chiefs. While they’ve yet to prove they’re a contender just yet under Kliff Kingsbury, the reality is that the young talent here is emerging at the right time and Arizona has the potential to make a serious leap forward this season.

Chiefs vs Cardinals Odds Preseason Week 2

At this point, the Chiefs are 2.5 point favorites over the host Cardinals, which is typically a three-point advantage for being the home team. That means the Chiefs would likely be favored by 5.5 points on a neutral field.

Chiefs Injury Report vs Cardinals Preseason Week 2

The Chiefs are coming into another week of preparation relatively healthy. The defense should get a few guys back against the Cardinals who were not able to suit up against the 49ers in the preseason’s first game. Defensive ends Alex Okafor and Taco Charlton are both veterans on one-year deals who know that a roster spot is not a given at this point, especially with the strong showing of young players so far in camp like Mike Danna and Tim Ward.

Willie Gay will also play in his first preseason game after sitting for several days of practice in the Chiefs’ concussion protocol. That’s a big addition to the heart of the defense, and fans will be watching closely to see how he looks alongside rookie Nick Bolton in a remade linebacking corps.

J.J. Watt Injury Update

Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury addressed the absence of defensive end J.J. Watt, the most exciting offseason addition for the Cardinals, in training camp so far. It’s clear that Watts is not healthy and that the Cardinals are taking their time as he nurses a hamstring injury. Despite being with a new team, Kingsbury pointed all the way to the start of the regular season as his point of concern, so no one should expect to see Watts play against the Chiefs (or in the preseason’s final game either).

Chiefs vs Cardinals Prediction Preseason Week 2

While preseason action is technically meaningless, the Chiefs are on a quest to win a second Super Bowl in three seasons and Patrick Mahomes planted a flag in an undefeated record earlier this offseason. The Chiefs are already 1-0 and another road win, even in the preseason, would be a nice bit of momentum heading into the preseason finale at Arrowhead next Friday. It makes sense to go with the contender as they show themselves to be deep with talent into the second and third-string players fighting for roster spots. Chiefs by 3 with a final score of 20-17.
