Todd Gurley

It seems like just yesterday Todd Gurley was lighting up the stat sheet on his way to a handful of NFL MVP votes for the Los Angeles Rams. In 2017 and 2018 Gurley was the Rams offense averaging nearly 2,000 total yards and 20 touchdowns over the two seasons.

Sadly, in a story all to common throughout the history of professional sports, Gurley’s production began to succumb to injury starting in the 2018 season. The burst fans had come to know and marvel at was squelched by a degenerating knee injury.

While he doesn’t possess the super human versatility of years past, Gurley has still been a productive back. Over the last two seasons Gurley has averaged nearly 1,000 total yards and 12 touchdowns.

His primary appeal to the Andy Reid coached Chiefs is his versatility in the passing game. While his production has declined as of late, he has still averaged over 300 yards receiving in the last three seasons.

The Chiefs running back room is arguably filled with a number of unproven commodities at this point. At the right price, a player with the versatility of Todd Gurley might be an interesting experiment for the preseason.
