Cornerbacks

Starters: L’Jarius Sneed, Charvarius Ward

Bench: Rashad Fenton, Deandre Baker, Mike Hughes, BoPete Keyes

Practice Squad: Dicaprio Bootle

Cut: Marlon Character, Chris Lammons, Manny Patterson

Cornerback is another spot where I think there are some major roster battles ahead. There are a bunch of questions with this group. Will L’Jarius Sneed be primarily an outside corner this year? Who will be the primary slot corner? Will Deandre Baker be healthy enough to earn playing time out of training camp? Can Mike Hughes stay healthy long enough to earn playing time? Can BoPete Keyes earn some playing time in his second year?

Right now I’ve got all those players making the 53-man roster along with Charvarius Ward and Rashad Fenton. I just have no idea who is going to get regular starting reps and where. I like undrafted rookie Dicaprio Bootle and think he’s a great option for the practice squad. I also wouldn’t be shocked if they brought in a veteran like Bashaud Breeland at some point either. That probably would be bad for one of Baker/Hughes/Keyes making the roster.

Cornerback is second only to the offensive line in terms of there being the most questions and different ways things could turn out. It’s definitely a position I’ll be watching closely. Finally, let’s look at the safeties.
