Safeties

Starters: Tyrann Mathieu, Juan Thornhill

Bench: Dan Sorensen, Will Parks

Practice Squad: Devon Key

Cut: Zayne Anderson, Rodney Clemons, Armani Watts

With my predictions including six cornerbacks, that left me with room for just four safeties on the active roster. That ultimately cost Armani Watts his spot on the team. I think the signing of Will Parks was an underrated one and think he is very likely to beat out Watts for playing time. With Tyrann Mathieu, Juan Thornhill, and Dan Sorensen being locks to make the team, that was that.

I think the Chiefs will let Watts look for a new team instead of using one of the veteran spots on the practice squad and instead have undrafted rookie Devon Key landing there as a developmental player who has some potential as a run support safety and special teams player.

So what do you think of these predictions for the Chiefs roster? Do you think I got it mostly right? Are there some positions where you think things will play out a lot different than what I have? I’d love to read your thoughts in the comments below.
