The Kansas City Chiefs have signed a couple new players to the roster on Wednesday, one of which is the reported signing of veteran safety Will Parks to the roster, per ESPN reporter Adam Schefter.

The Chiefs already signed wide receiver Chris Finke earlier in the day, and Will Parks now adds a presence on the defensive side. General manager Brett Veach did mention that some free agent signings were coming after the conclusion of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs recently came through the draft with six new prospects to add to the mix, but surprisingly, not a single one was either a cornerback or a safety despite that being a very real need for the team. Instead, the Chiefs focused on offensive line with a couple picks while bolstering four other positions with their remaining selections.

Parks brings plenty of experience to the Chiefs secondary and should be a familiar face to fans paying attention to the division in recent years. Parks spent most of the last five seasons in Denver with the Broncos after they selected him in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Parks was a part-time starter for the Broncos in that span, including a career-high seven starts in 2019, but he was allowed to leave in free agency last spring at this time.

The K.C. Chiefs have signed safety Will Parks to the roster.

The Philadelphia Eagles signed him to a one-year deal but an injury sidelined him a bit and he was eventually released after only six games with the team.

Parks has 72 games of experience over the last five NFL seasons and has 13 pass deflections and 4 interceptions in that span.
