After a couple weeks of very slow weeks for Chiefs Kingdom in the realm of news, Monday was a big day as head coach Andy Reid, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and All Pro safety Tyrann Mathieu all met with reporters to give offseason updates. However the biggest Chiefs news of the day wasn’t even out of Arrowhead. Instead it came via an unexpectedly emotional goodbye from former Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith as he said goodbye to the NFL.

Smith announced his retirement from the game on Monday and did so via a short, well-produced video that brought all the feels. On the latest episode of the Arrowhead Addict podcast, Sterling Holmes and Matt Conner talked about their great appreciation for the man and the player and reflected on what he meant to the Chiefs in the last decade.

Also on the episode, we discuss the latest updates on Patrick Mahomes’ health, whether or not Andy Reid was joking when he said Lucas Niang was a legitimate option at left tackle, and whether the stomach-punch of a Super Bowl loss will stay with this team. Tyrann said it was the kind of loss that can derail some teams, but are the Chiefs mentally tough enough to bounce back?

Check out all of this and more (including bad Korn impressions and some fun games of “this or that” on the latest episode of the Arrowhead Addict podcast.
