As free agency gets underway for the 2021 NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs had nearly two dozen players set to hit the open market—or at least with the potential of it. Between unrestricted and restricted free agents, the Chiefs had a lot to lose this offseason, but the quantity was greater than the quality as this offseason lacked any true big names who could potentially leave the Chiefs.

Still there’s a lot of working parts in free agency this year, so we thought we’d help you keep track of the Chiefs free agents and what happens to each as things play out. Here’s our free agent tracker for 2021 and we’ll keep this post updated with all the latest rumors and signings, whether they stay or leave Kansas City.

Le’Veon Bell – Unsigned

It was hardly the fireworks display that we all expected given the buzz of the signing, but Bell was a solid contributor for the Chiefs offense when given a chance. Unfortunately those opportunities were limited. What does Bell have left in the tank? It seems like less than what he showed in Pittsburgh but perhaps more than what Andy Reid allowed him to display. Some team is going to give him one more payday for sure to see what’s there. The upside play is simply too great.

Bashaud Breeland – Unsigned

After taking successive one-year contracts from the Chiefs in recent offseason, Breeland is now hitting the open market looking for some security and hoping to channel his deep playoff experience into a better payday than the single season $3 million deal from last year. There was rumored interest on the part of the Chiefs for a reunion, but they’ve also been in on other corners as well.

Alex Brown – Unsigned

The defensive back held on with the Chiefs for quite a while as a young versatile player ready to compete for an active roster spot, but injuries took their toll at inopportune times and always left Brown on the outside looking in. Now he’s going to have to hope for a clean slate with another team.
