Super Bowl LV: Prop bets and odds for KC Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Props not related to football
The National Anthem O/U – 1 minute, 59 seconds
Singers Jazmine Sullivan and Eric Church will join forces as a duet for this year’s Super Bowl National Anthem. Super Bowl XL was the last time the anthem was performed by a tandem rather than a solo artist (when Aretha Franklin teamed up with Aaron Neville to open the game), and their rendition clocked in at 2 minutes, 8 seconds, long enough to be the third lengthiest version over the last 15 years. But only six of the last 15 Super Bowl anthems have gone over this year’s line. This is a tough call, but we’d take the over.
The Coin Toss – Heads or Tails (-105)
There are a number of ‘Coin Toss’ related prop bets that one could make on the Super Bowl, but the most standard is on which side of the coin will win the toss. In addition to this completely random luck wager, you could also bet on which team will win (-105) and will the team that calls the toss be correct (also -105). If you are really interested in testing your luck, you can bet on whether or not the team that wins the coin toss, will win the game (-110 yes; -130 no). If you need the data, Tails has six of the last seven Super Bowls; but the two sides are tied six to six over the last 12. Heads (25) trails Tails (29) all time.
Halftime Show – The Weeknd
Canadian pop band The Weeknd is playing the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and there are a number of prop bets you can make on their performance:
- You could bet on how many songs will be played (O/U 8, with the Over being a heavy favorite at -175 v +135 for the Under).
- You might place a bet on how many wardrobe changes (O/U .5 with the Over being the heavy favorite at -270 v +180 for the Under).
- If you want to get wild, you could get excellent odds (+1200) for wagering that yes, there will be a wardrobe malfunction!
- You can even bet on what song will be played first (“Starboy” is the favorite) or last!
And many (many) more!
Other popular prop bets
One of the most popular non-game related bets every year is on what color of Gatorade will be poured on the winning coach (orange at +130 is the favorite). Last year the winners cashed in at +800 for picking orange!
You could wager on whether or not a fan run onto the field during the game (No at -900 is the favorite here, not surprisingly). With so many less fans in the stands this year, one would think the odds would be even lower.
Finally, one could be on how many times will Roger Goodell be shown on the broadcast (O/U 1.5; even bet). This seems like an easy ‘Over’ wager to us.
There are literally dozens more prop bets available from Bovada and many other sports books, so check them out for yourself and see what strikes your fancy! Best of luck!
