Clyde Edwards-Helaire returns to Chiefs practice after sitting out earlier this week.

The Kansas City Chiefs look as if their backfield will be back at full strength heading into Sunday night’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Darrel Williams were back in practice on Friday after sitting out of practice earlier this week.

Edwards-Helaire and Williams both missed Thursday’s practice with an undisclosed illness, but it clearly was not related to COVID-19 given that he never had to quarantine to any degree. It was the first time Edwards-Helaire had missed any activity all season, which led to questions of what was wrong. Apparently such concerns were short-lived as both running backs are back and likely set to go on Sunday.

The Chiefs are dealing with a number of injuries, especially on offense, as they gear up to face the Raiders, but their recent bye week certainly helps things out. Sammy Watkins has been limited in practice, but he sounds like he’s set to compete for the first time in several weeks after sitting with a hamstring injury. Eric Fisher is dealing with a shoulder concern as well as a recent quarantine for COVID-19, but he’s also a full participant in practice this week.

The Chiefs will hope to avenge their only loss on the season in Week 11 as they visit the second-place Raiders, a team that upset them back in Week 5 at home by a final score of 40-32. The Chiefs are coming off the bye and hoping to put away any competition in their division quite early by lengthening their lead to a full three games with a win. A loss, however, will put the Raiders at a single game back with a complete season sweep.
