Around the AFC West: Raiders carry momentum into key matchup with Chiefs

Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers traveled to Miami to take on the red hot Dolphins. The Dolphins, with rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, have been great. The QB looks better each week and the team is certainly in the hunt for a playoff spot and possibly the division lead in the AFC East.
This was billed as a battle of the rookie quarterbacks with Justin Herbert looking great so far on the season. This game was ultimately pretty competitive, but the Chargers just could not pull it out in the end. Falling to 2-7 on the season, the Chargers are in last place in the AFC West.
Herbert had one of his worst games of his career with just 187 yards on 20-of-32 passing. That probably led to this:
Poor guy. Never trust someone that says “I’m good with clippers.”
All jokes aside, the Chargers are such a mystery to me. They have a lot of talent but just can’t win. I wonder if it comes down to coaching? I already feel bad for Herbert because if it turns out that Anthony Lynn is out after this season, then we may see another quarterback with a great amount of potential ruined by a carousel of coaches. I hope that isn’t the case because I prefer a competitive AFC West (that ultimately succumbs to Patrick Mahomes).
Next week, the Chargers host the Jets, possibly the only team in the league that could rival the Chargers for poor coaching? Maybe they can actually pull off a win? I think it is possible and even likely. The Jets are a dumpster fire and clearly tanking. However, can the Chargers find another unique way to lose? The anticipation is real.
Game time is 3:05 p.m.
