The latest round of NFL mock drafts are projecting offensive line prospects to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Given the mix-this-up-as-we-go approach for the Kansas City Chiefs offensive line this season, it’s not a big surprise that the latest survey of mock drafts is projecting some help to arrive next spring as the team attempts to keep Patrick Mahomes upright and healthy for, say, the next 10 to 15 years.

Think back for a second as to how this offensive line should stack up as compared to the current players involved. Mike Remmers has gone from sixth man to starting left guard to starting right tackle. Kelechi Osemele went from street free agent to starting left guard to major injury loss. Austin Reiter and Daniel Kilgore are trading places in an ongoing experiment at center. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Lucas Niang both opted out before the year even started.

This means instead of a line that was intended to be Eric Fisher, Osemele, Reiter, Duvernay-Tardif, and Mitchell Schwartz up front, the Chiefs have been winning with Fisher, Nick Allegretti, Kilgore/Reiter, Andrew Wylie and Remmers. Hence the reason why the latest round of mock drafts shows the Chiefs reaching for some o-line help in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Let’s look at some of the projected picks.
