Patrick Mahomes

The Kansas City Chiefs have a ton of talented players on their roster. Guys like Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, Chris Jones, and Tyrann Mathieu are all guys who play a big part in why the Chiefs are Super Bowl favorites. However, there is only one player that is so special that he elevates the team to Super Bowl favorites with his presence on the roster and that is quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Since you are reading this on a Kansas City Chiefs blog, I don’t need to tell you how special Mahomes is. You already know. He’s the reigning Super Bowl MVP, former league MVP, and one of the front runners for the MVP again this season. He currently has a 67% completion percentage with 25 touchdowns and only 1 interception. He is averaging 298.6 yards per game and is on pace for 44 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and 4,777 yards.

Numbers fail to tell the whole story though. The fact is that no opposing team’s lead is safe with Mahomes at the helm of the Chiefs offense. He proved that last season in the playoffs as he led the Chiefs back from double-digit deficits in each of their postseason games. He’s the most dynamic player in the NFL, and while his supporting cast and coaching staff certainly set him up to succeed, his special talent is something that just can’t be replicated. He’s only in his third year of starting and he already has a career highlight reel of jaw-dropping plays that could rival the best quarterbacks of all time.

It may not be a shocking pick, but the fact is that any list of reasons as to why the Chiefs are Super Bowl favorites has to start with Patrick Mahomes. Period.

Now let’s talk about the second main reason the Chiefs are Suepr Bowl favorites.
