Sammy Watkins, L’Jarius Sneed return to Chiefs practice

The Kansas City Chiefs got Sammy Watkins and L’Jarius Sneed back to practice this week.
Two important performers, one from each side of the ball, were able to return to practice for the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday, as both wide receiver Sammy Watkins and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed are healed enough to get back to work.
According to ESPN reporter Adam Teicher, both players were back in practice on Wednesday for the first time in weeks for the Chiefs. Watkins has missed each of the last three games with a hamstring injury. Despite avoiding placement on the team’s injured reserve list, Watkins has still been unable to not only play but practice as well. However, given his availability on Wednesday, it’s a good sign that he will ramp up for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
L’Jarius Sneed played excellent football for the first four games of the season for the Chiefs before he suffered a broken collarbone that required several weeks to heal. His return to practice is a good sign, but it’s also impossible to tell just yet whether or not he might be ready for a live game. Nevertheless, the Chiefs secondary will receive a major boost when he’s able to return.
As for other injuries, starting right tackle Mitchell Schwartz is still missing practice with a back injury that has kept him out of two straight games. The Chiefs might do well to simply let him rest through the upcoming game against the Panthers, because the bye week is on the other side. That would give Schwartz more than a month to heal up. Also Teicher notes that Frank Clark is out of practice with a sore knee. More details on that to likely come later this week from head coach Andy Reid.
