Believe it or not, the Kansas City Chiefs still have plenty of help on the way this season.

In case you thought the Kansas City Chiefs looked like they were in good shape as the roster stands at present, you should know there’s plenty more help on the way as the season progresses. That’s because the team has several players who are still out with short-term injuries that fans should expect to see added as the weeks go by.

It sounds a bit unfair to believe that a team as good as the Chiefs has such reinforcements coming. They are already 6-1 on the season with the winless New York Jets in the on-deck circle. That likely puts them at 7-1 through the first half of the season with the toughest part of their schedule in the rearview mirror. A showdown with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers awaits, but the rest of the final eight games features the AFC West, once again, along with the Panthers, Falcons, and Dolphins

Before we get into the players with uncertain timelines, it’s important to point out that the list of returning players who will definitely help begins with right tackle Mitchell Schwartz. The cornerstone of the offensive line missed his first start after 192 consecutive games in the NFL on Sunday with a back injury. His ability to return to practice will be something to watch this week, but it’s clear Schwartz loves to be on the field. Then again, the Chiefs have the ability to be patient here.

Pass rusher Taco Charlton is also on the mend with a knee injury. He missed practice last week and the team’s win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday, but he was simply inactive which means he’s likely to return sooner than later.

Let’s take a look at some names you might have forgotten who will also return down the stretch for the Chiefs.
