Patrick Mahomes and other Chiefs players seemed very excited to sign Le’Veon Bell.

It didn’t take long for members of the Kansas City Chiefs roster to express their excitement at the team’s latest signing. It’s hard to blame them.

When the Chiefs announced they’d come to terms with free agent running back Le’Veon Bell on a one-year deal, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and several other current and former players took to social media to give a shout to their newest teammate.

Bell brings yet another big name to the league’s most dangerous offense, one already loaded with the NFL’s most dangerous offensive weapon in Tyreek Hill, the best tight end in Travis Kelce, a dynamic physical receiver in Sammy Watkins, the first running back drafted this year in Clyde Edwards-Helaire, an elite speed option in Mecole Hardman and others. Oh yeah, there’s also the best overall player in the game throwing the ball.

Still, the team seems very excited to have landed Bell, himself a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time first team All-Pro. Bell’s production the last year-plus with the New York Jets have been lacking, but the Jets offense is the league’s worst, their head coach is begging to be fired, and Bell is going to be quite motivated to show what he still has in the tank.

As for the team’s responses, it all began with Mahomes who had a couple thoughts on his mind. First came the sly smile which insinuates that he knew something was coming.

Then came the official team leader doing his thing.

It’s likely that no one is more excited than Chris Jones, who was already a good friend of Bell’s. The pair have worked out together during the offseason and now they get to enjoy the spoils of winning together in K.C.

A fellow pass catcher wasn’t going to be left out.

My personal favorite response comes from defensive tackle Khalen Saunders, who referenced general manager Brett Veach and his ability to go after and get what he wants. He’s done it before with LeSean McCoy and Terrell Suggs and now he’s signed Le’Veon Bell.

Saunders wasn’t the only one tipping a cap of sorts to Veach. Former Chiefs lineman Jeff Allen imagined what the GM’s office resembled after confirmation of the deal.

Another former Chiefs lineman was a bit more measured in his response, noting that it helps the team but their offense was already something to watch.

You can read our take here on what in particular makes Le’Veon Bell such a solid addition.
