Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers traveled to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers in Week 4. The story of the game was the age difference between the quarterbacks. Justin Herbert was just two years old when Tom Brady was in his rookie year. That is a staggering age difference. Frankly, though, Herbert did pretty well.

While this was a loss for the Chargers due to a few rookie errors on the part of Herbert, the Chargers kept this close until Tom Brady led a game-winning drive (yet again… I do hate him). It looked like the Chargers were going to pull it off until Tom Brady did Tom Brady things and threw for five touchdowns.

Ultimately, the Chargers defense, riddled with injuries, could not stop Brady and the Bucs and dropped another close one that they should have put away.

The Chargers, yet again, had bad luck with injuries. Running back Austin Ekeler went down with an injury during the game. Testing showed no surgery will be needed, but he will be sidelined with a hamstring injury for 4-6 weeks.

Next week, the Chargers travel to New Orleans to take on another old quarterback in Drew Brees and the Saints. The Saints seem to be in the midst of finding their groove while the Chargers are just hoping they aren’t all carted off on stretchers. I anticipate a win for the Saints in primetime but the Chargers will give them a run for their money.

Game time is Monday at 7:15 p.m.
