The Chiefs defeated the New England Patriots on Monday and as they have all season long, the defending champs got key contributions from their rookies.

When the Kansas City Chiefs took on the New England Patriots on Monday, they did so without the aide of their most productive rookie to this point in the season, cornerback L’Jarius Sneed. The fourth-round pick was placed on Injured Reserve last week after suffering a broken collarbone in the Chiefs Week 3 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens.

Despite that, Brett Veach’s 2020 draft class continues to shine for the undefeated, defending Super Bowl Champions, and the team received many key contributions from the youngsters in Week Four.

Let’s take a look at what the Chiefs got out of their first year guys in their win over the Patriots.

Inactives

Yasir Durant

Yasir Durant has yet to see game action this season. As an undrafted rookie free agent behind many veterans on the interior offensive line, this is not much of a surprise.

Lucas Niang (COVID)

Third round pick Lucas Niang opted out of the season before it began due to COVID concerns.

L’Jarius Sneed (IR)

As stated above, L’Jarius Sneed is on injured reserve with a broken clavicle.

BoPete Keyes

Okay, you got me. Technically the Chiefs seventh round pick, BoPete Keyes, was active on Monday from a roster management perspective. However, the rookie corner saw no action on defense or on special teams so he was, by all accounts, inactive.
