Patrick Mahomes, LOSER (and WINNER)

It pains me to type this but we all have to admit that Patrick Mahomes did not have his best night on Monday.

If it sounds like we’re going light on the Chiefs quarterback here, we are, but it’s also important to remember just how many beautiful throws there were on the night despite an overall “off night” by the offense. There were nice long strikes to Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Sammy Watkins throughout the game, and ultimately the Chiefs won the game by 16.

However, if you were watching, you’re going to remember the multiple cringe-worthy plays that were also on Mahomes. The Patriots dropped multiple interceptions and even had one called back on the aforementioned play that made Belichick so upset. There were also overthrows on a couple early throws that should have gone for big gains. Overall, it just felt like a night of lessons learned for Mahomes.

The good news is that Mahomes is also a winner as he’s the captain of a team that is now 4-0. An off night for Mahomes is still one with 2 touchdowns, 0 (official) interceptions, and a 113.6 passer rating.
