Rashad Fenton, WINNER

We said this was a defensive victory, which is why we’re featuring another big time playmaker in the secondary.

As a former sixth-round pick, by definition, Fenton is already doing well to make the Chiefs in his second season in the league. However, for those who’ve been watching, Fenton has grown tremendously from an already important and versatile contributor in the secondary to a legitimate starter on a team who absolutely needed him to step in.

The Chiefs should be operating from a deficit at the position given the suspension of Bashaud Breeland and injuries to Charvarius Ward and L’Jarius Sneed. Instead, the Chiefs shut down the Patriots passing game on Monday, and Fenton came up big with multiple deflections at important times and an interception to seal the game late in the fourth quarter.

Not enough will be written about Fenton’s marvelous performance, but for those who are watching, he’s an emerging playmaker on a team with several already.
