With Week 3 over, the NFL standings are starting to take shape and the Kansas City Chiefs find themselves alone atop the AFC West.

At the end of Week 3, the NFL standings are starting to take shape and give us an idea of what the playoffs will look like. We saw four unbeaten teams fall in the Los Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, and Los Angeles Rams. We also saw a tie, as the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cincinnati Bengals ended in a 23-23 deadlock.

The AFC West went 1-3 this week, with the only win coming from the Kansas City Chiefs who now find themselves atop the division as the only unbeaten team. They faced off against the unbeaten Baltimore Ravens on Monday night and won in impressive fashion.

In the week’s most anticipated matchup, the Chiefs went to Baltimore to take on the Ravens and came away victorious. While the Ravens got on the board first with a field goal, the Chiefs took a lead in the first half and never let go of it.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 385 yards and 4 touchdowns, which made him the fastest quarterback in NFL history to get to 10,000 passing yards. He also ran for 1 touchdown. Rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire ran the ball 20 times, but only was able to get 64 yards. He made up for it in the receiving game as he caught 5 passes for 70 yards. Overall, the Chiefs commanded this game from start to finish and won 34-20.

The Las Vegas Raiders took on New England Patriots and did not look very good. After two strong performances where the Raiders put up 34 points in both matches, the offense could only muster 10 points until garbage time in the fourth quarter. Derek Carr had a respectable game competing 24/32 passes for 261 yards and 2 touchdowns, but overall the Raiders were just inefficient with the ball and lost 36-20.

The Denver Broncos played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but with quarterback Drew Lock and wide receiver Courtland Sutton out, like the Raiders they couldn’t get their offense moving. The Broncos started quarterback Jeff Driskel and ended up benching him for quarterback Brett Rypien. Neither quarterback had a great stat line, with Driskel ending the day 17/30 for 176 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception and Rypien completing 8/9 passes for 53 yards and 1 interception. The Broncos ended up losing 28-10 in a game that was never close.

The Los Angeles Chargers faced off against the Carolina Panthers with rookie quarterback Justin Herbert starting once again due to Tyrod Taylor‘s injury. Herbert played respectably and threw the ball nearly 50 times. He ended the day completing 35 out of his 49 pass attempts for 330 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. Wide receiver Keenan Allen paced the Chargers receivers catching 13 passes for 132 yards and 1 touchdown, but it wasn’t enough as the Chargers fell 21-16.
