The Chiefs have lost L’Jarius Sneed for the game with a collarbone injury.
The Kansas City Chiefs are already very thin at cornerback and now they’ll be forced to go without their top rookie for at least a bit as L’Jarius Sneed has left the game with a collarbone injury. The team announced that he is out for the rest of Monday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens.
The loss of Sneed will be a tough one to overcome for the Chiefs defense for the long term, given how well he has played so far early in the year, if he somehow is held out for further action. Sneed was forced into a starting role from the very first snaps of his debut season with the Chiefs and he has responded with an excellent effort in both games so far. He has two interceptions so far for the Chiefs and has provided solid coverage in response.
The Chiefs have been thin at the position due to injuries and a suspension. Bashaud Breeland is sitting out the first four games of the year due to a suspension levied by the NFL before the year began. Meanwhile, Charvarius Ward, the other boundary corner, fractured his hand in Week 1 and missed the rest of that game and Week 2 as well. Coming into the season, the Chiefs were already in need of help at corner and Sneed took care of that concern.
Sneed was drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft as a prospect out of Louisiana Tech.
