26 Touchdowns

Patrick Mahomes is only 26 touchdowns behind Alex Smith when it comes to the all time leaderboard for touchdowns scored as the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback.

In only two seasons as a starter for the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes has scored 76 touchdowns. In 2018, Mahomes threw 50 touchdowns passes, and in 2019, despite playing most of the early season with a bum ankle and missing two and a half games after injuring his knee, he still put up 26 passing touchdowns. With 76 touchdowns total, Mahomes currently has the fifth most passing touchdowns for the Chiefs.

With only 26 more touchdowns, Mahomes would tie Alex Smith’s 102 touchdowns and move into 4th overall. Additonally, if Mahomes can get 29 touchdowns, he will tie Bill Kenney‘s 109 touchdowns and move into third. If Patrick Mahomes can have another monster season like his 2018 and put together 42 touchdowns, he will pass both Smith and Kenney and tie Trent Green‘s 118 touchdowns in second place.

Mahomes has accomplished all of this despite having played less than half of all of the other names on that list. In terms of total games played, Mahomes has 31, Smith had 76, Kenney had 106, Green sits at 88, and Len Dawson played in 183 games.

Some related stats: Mahomes has the best QBR of all the Chiefs’ player in history (that has thrown at least five passes). Mahomes also has the highest average yards per game with 303.6, which is 60 yards more than second place (Trent Green).
