The Chiefs have announced their initial 53-man roster for the 2020 season.

The Kansas City Chiefs have made their roster cuts official to bring down the roster to only 53 players by Saturday’s deadline of 4:00 p.m. E.T. The results included a few key surprises.

From tight end Nick Keizer and defensive lineman Demone Harris making the cut to the release of defensive end Breeland Speaks, the Chiefs threw some curveballs (wrong sport, we know) at the deadline. However, we can only trust in general manager Brett Veach’s vision for a roster that’s been built to “run it back” in 2020 as the team hopes to defend its title from Super Bowl LIV.

The Chiefs can still make a number of moves (and in fact, this should be expected) as Veach submits waiver claims, pulls of unexpected trades or signs new free agents. The Chiefs have consistently tooled with their active roster in the days leading up to the season and this year should be no different. Previous seasons have included deals for contributors like Charvarius Ward and Austin Reiter.

Here’s a look at the complete roster as it stands in the present.
