Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews get engaged!

Patrick Mahomes finally put a ring on his high school sweetheart Brittany Matthews’ finger.

On the same day that Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs’ roster and staff would receive special rings of their own, Brittany Matthews and Patrick Mahomes revealed via their Instagram stories that Brittany had gotten a very special ring as well.

Despite this day being about a completely different kind of ring for so many people, this is unquestionably the most important and beautiful ring we have seen today.

Not only did Mahomes put a ring on it, but he also proposed in one of the most special places in both of their lives: Arrowhead Stadium.

Mahomes and Matthews have been dating for over 8 years, starting their relationship while still attending Whitehouse High School together. Although they attended separate colleges, they maintained their relationship and currently live together in Kansas City with their two beautiful bulldogs, Steel and Silver.

Matthews is a star athlete herself, having played soccer almost her whole life. While in high school, she was awarded “All-East Texas Forward” honors, and would go on to play high level soccer at the University of Texas. She actually accepted a pro level contract to play soccer in Iceland in 2017, where she won her team a league title before returning to the US to focus on a career in fitness.

We wish a lifetime of happiness to the newly engaged couple and can not wait to see the beautiful wedding that will be coming in the near future.
