Regrading the 2013 NFL Draft class for the Kansas City Chiefs

Let’s regrade the Kansas City Chiefs haul from the 2013 NFL Draft.

The 2013 NFL Draft was fascinating, both for the Chiefs and the NFL in general. For the Chiefs, 2013 was the truly the beginning of a new era. After a brutal 2012 season, the Chiefs opted for a franchise overhaul, bringing in coach Andy Reid and quarterback Alex Smith. The seismic changes, over time, transformed the Chiefs into a perennial contender. The 2013 draft, in which the Chiefs held the first overall pick, was the first one of the Reid era.

The 2013 NFL Draft, from an overall perspective, was bizarre. The draft saw back-to-back tackles selected with the first and second picks and featured relatively few future Pro Bowlers.

Today, we look back at each of the Chiefs selections and grade each pick. With these grades, I have tried to balanced, positional value analysis with a more holistic, zoomed out view at what each pick provided the Chiefs.
