The Chiefs have their second player, Chris Jones, on the NFL’s Top 100.

As the NFL continues to roll out their (frustrating) Top 100 Players list, the Kansas City Chiefs landed their second player in the rankings at No. 52 when defensive lineman Chris Jones was unveiled.

Jones has enjoyed a summer to remember with the signing of the long-term contract extension he’s been craving for the last year or more. The Chiefs and Jones were able to agree on terms on a new four-year deal worth up to $85 million with incentives. It keeps Jones and Frank Clark together for the prime years of their respective careers along the Chiefs line, a move that keeps the team’s pass rush among the most feared in the game.

Jones came out swinging in the media with talk of a dynasty after signing his contract. He said he believes the Chiefs can win five Super Bowls. Clearly Jones is also intent on doing his part to see it through as one of the league’s most fearsome disruptors up the middle.

While his first Pro Bowl came just last year, Jones has been building a reputation as one of the league’s most productive tackles well before that. In 2018 he set an NFL record for most consecutive games with at least one sack with 11, the same year he led the Chiefs with 15.5 sacks. Last year, he had 9 despite missing a couple games due to injury. Still he returned with several key plays during the team’s postseason run.

Jones, who just turned 26 years old, has 20 passes defended, 7 forced fumbles, 33 sacks, 72 quarterback hits, and even 2 interceptions in his four-year career with the Chiefs.

Next. Confidence and preparation will be key for Chiefs dynasty. dark
