This week’s Arrowhead Addict Podcast discusses Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones and more.

The NFL has a lot of hurdles to clear before they even think about playing football games in the fall. With numbers heading in the wrong directions, and the NFL and NFLPA possibly knocking on the door of an MLB-level labor dispute, the only thing somewhat certain in all of this is that football stadiums will not be full in the fall.

There are still some that hold out hope around the NFL that they can squeeze some fans into stadiums around the country. If that hope fades, and games are played in front of empty stadiums, the league should not worry. Take a look at baseball owners pleading with the league not to play their sport due to the huge financial hit they will see without fans in the stands.

The NFL, unlike any other professional sport, does not have to fear an impending doom without fans in the stands. The league generates the highest-rated TV show every single week, three days a week, across multiple time slots, and truly carries entire networks with their television product.

Some fans have even stated that watching games on television are a superior product than going to games. Listen, I love Arrowhead Stadium as much as the next guy, but on Sunday’s you can catch me at my desk with four screens all playing different NFL games rather than in the lower bowl of Arrowhead. I’ll see y’all at the one-off, primetime games!

That is a credit to the NFL’s branding. When you take a trip to the K to take in some Royals baseball, you do not feel as though you’re missing out on some awesome baseball action around the sport. When you head into that noon game at Arrowhead, if you are a die-hard NFL fan, you can not help but wonder what you are missing from the other games around the league.

On this week’s Arrowhead Addict podcast, Rylan Stiles and Sterling Holmes discuss the NFL surviving without fans financially, along with the Patrick Mahomes and Chris Jones contracts!
