Kliff Kingsbury’s posh house draws Patrick Mahomes attention
By Matt Conner
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is a little jealous, as we all are, of the posh house that Kliff Kingsbury calls his residence after the Cardinals showed it on Twitter.
Being homebound these days means different things to different people, but we’ve all got a pretty good clue that sheltering-in-place isn’t so hard on the likes of Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
During the broadcast of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cardinals decided to show an image of their head coach resting in some of the most lavish digs you’ll find featured on a broadcast filled with the displays of various NFL employees’ houses. So far we’ve seen the insides of several players, coaches, general managers and even Roger Goodell, the NFL’s commissioner, himself, but nothing matches the home base of Kingsbury.
The response to the tweet was instant with the majority of Twitter followers admiring the incredible view, the furniture, the surrounding environment, the giant TV—you get the picture. The whole thing seems straight out of a James Bond villain’s house or, at the very least, someone who is very, very rich. But apparently even those with significantly more money than most of us ended up jealous of Kingsbury’s house as well.
Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback and Super Bowl MVP, will be able to afford anything he wants soon enough given that the Chiefs are on the verge of signing him to a long-term contract extension that will make him the highest-paid player in the league. That said, for now, Mahomes is jealous of his former college coach. You’d think Mahomes would have seen it by now, but maybe everyone’s so busy (or so homebound) that they haven’t been able to enjoy some time together.
Mahomes was not the only one. Another former Texas Tech player, and the newest member of the Chiefs roster, running back DeAndre Washington, had a hilarious response for Mahomes.
Even Tyrann Mathieu, Chiefs safety and former player for the Cardinals, knew it wasn’t normal for everyone to live like Kingsbury in the desert.
As for Kingsbury and the Arizona Cardinals, they just got richer themselves with the addition of Isaiah Simmons, former Clemson defender, at the No. 8 overall pick.
