A substantial need that seems to fly under the radar of Chiefs fans is defensive end. Kansas City lost Emmanuel Ogbah this offseason and Tanoh Kpassagnon is entering a contract year. The Chiefs are hopeful starter Alex Okafor will return healthy, but 2019 marks the third time in eight years that Okafor finished his season on Injured Reserve. Outside of star pass rusher Frank Clark, the cupboard looks somewhat bare for the Super Bowl Champions.

The Chiefs have brought in five defensive ends that we know about. It would not be a surprise if they had done more research on this position. A key name to watch is Auburn defensive end Marlon Davidson. Davidson was a swiss army piece along the front lines in Auburn and paired nicely with teammate Derrick Brown, a projected top 10 pick.

Julian Okwara, a defensive end from Notre Dame, is a particularly interesting name that is not often linked to Kansas City but could be in contention at pick 32 in the 2020 NFL Draft. Okwara visited with the Chiefs and his older brother (Romeo) played under Steve Spagnuolo in New York. Okwara has work to do but he flashes the potential to be a complete player on the edge.
