#5 – Donnie Edwards, Linebacker

Coming in at number five on our list is UCLA linebacker Donnie Edwards, whom the Chiefs selected with the 98th overall selection in the 1996 NFL Draft.

During his first six seasons in Kansas City, Edwards played in 94 regular season games for Kansas City (of 96 possible), and started 80 of them. He was an Iron Man for the team. He went on to play five seasons with the San Diego Chargers before returning to Kansas City for two more seasons to finish his career. He only made one Pro Bowl, which was during his first season with the Chargers in 2002.

During his eight year Chiefs career, Edwards had 761 tackles, 11 interceptions, and nine fumble recoveries. His career totals demonstrate that, by and large, his best years were with the Chargers: 1501 tackles, 28 interceptions, 11 fumble recoveries and 23.5 sacks. Despite that fact, Edwards was a force for the Chiefs, a model of consistency, and an all around solid contributor.
