The Kansas City Chiefs could add some interesting pieces in free agency if they wanted to bolster the offensive line.

For anyone with great interest in what the Kansas City Chiefs are going to do along the offensive line, you might want to largely fast forward to the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs’ days as a major free agent spender, at least on free agents you might not expect, are gone as they seek to pay the players who have been waiting for their just rewards. Chris Jones wants to be paid like Frank Clark. Patrick Mahomes wants to be paid like no one else. Significant pay increases for Tyrann Mathieu, Tyreek Hill, Frank Clark and more will eat up the rest of the cap. That doesn’t even include Sammy Watkins.

Basically if the Chiefs are going to improve any starting spots on the offensive front, it’s likely not going to come through free agency unless it’s a moderate step forward or potential competition for a role. No splash signings here.

The good news: the Chiefs won a Super Bowl with this very unit, so it’s not as if this group has proven to be deficient. Are there concerns? Yes. Questions? Absolutely. However even through injuries in ’19, the Chiefs pulled together long enough to win their first championship in 50 years.

Sometimes good enough is good enough. The Chiefs are good enough right now with a chance to get better this offseason. What free agents could be a part of that? Let’s take a look.
