Defensive End

Players currently under contract:
Frank Clark
Alex Okafor
Tanoh Kpassagnon
Breeland Speaks
Demone Harris
Anthony Lanier
Tim Ward

Need for a starter: 5
Need for depth: 5

The Chiefs are okay at defensive end. They have their star at the position in Frank Clark. They have a couple of other solid starting options in Alex Okafor and Tanoh Kpassagnon. So the Chiefs aren’t in dire need of a starting defensive end, but with Terrell Suggs set to become a free agent it wouldn’t hurt for the Chiefs to add one more starting caliber pass rusher. Perhaps they think Breeland Speaks can be that player, but I have my doubts.

I actually think this is a case of the Chiefs needing to add one more guy. If they add a starting caliber player that will give them the depth that they need. If they add a solid developmental guy for depth they can probably get by with the starters that they currently have (assuming Okafor is fully recovered from his injury).

Now let’s talk about the linebackers.
