As Andy Reid earned his first Super Bowl win as a head coach, many of his past colleagues, players and other public figures congratulated him.

The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years. More importantly, Andy Reid won his first ever Super Bowl as a head coach, earning his 222nd win in style.

There was a moment where it seemed doubtful that we would be discussing this. With the Chiefs down by 10 points midway through the fourth quarter, the San Francisco 49ers appeared to have the game under control. But with Reid’s guidance, the Chiefs surged late in the game, scoring 21 points to beat the 49ers 31-20.

Reid has coached football since 1982 and joined the NFL as an assistant in 1992. Since then, Reid has worked with many great coaches and players throughout his coaching career. Many people, whether they worked with Andy Reid or not, are shouting him out on Twitter.

The Philadelphia Eagles were on of the first to congratulate Reid, quoting one of his sayings at the start of every press conference.

Former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, who went to the Super Bowl with Reid 15 years ago, congratulated Reid, demanding everyone to “give him the credit he deserves.”

Former safety Brian Dawkins, another longtime Eagle and former player of Reid’s, tweeted an emotional video message for Reid.

Terrell Owens, one of the best wide receivers in NFL history, briefly played for Reid in Philadelphia. He still referred to Reid as his “absolute favorite coach.”

Former Chiefs offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz, the brother of current Chiefs right tackle Mitchell Schwartz, gave Reid some love on Twitter.

Former defensive end Mike DeVito, who played a couple of seasons for Reid in Kansas City, congratulated Reid and some of his former Chiefs teammates.

Former wide receiver Jeremy Maclin played for Reid in Philadelphia and Kansas City.

Reid got a lot more love from around the National Football League.

Even sports figures from outside the NFL decided to chime in and congratulate the Chiefs head coach on the elusive title.
