3. Chiefs 41, Patriots 14: Sept. 29, 2014

If you are looking for a blowout win against a championship caliber team, look no further. The Chiefs started the 2014 season 0-2, but that quickly became a long distant memory after their Week 4 domination against the New England Patriots.

Running back Jamaal Charles came back from injury and impressed with three total touchdowns. Quarterback Alex Smith threw for three touchdowns, two of them to Charles. This all helped the Chiefs score 27 unanswered points through two-and-a-half quarters. With the game 41-7, the Patriots pulled quarterback Tom Brady after an interception was returned for a touchdown by safety Husain Abdullah. Brady’s night was a forgettable one for Pats fans, but one celebrated by Chiefs fans.

Outside linebackers Tamba Hali and Justin Houston combined for three sacks and two forced fumbles. One of those fumbles was recovered by Hali. During Abdullah’s touchdown return, Houston decided to help pave the way for Abdullah by pancaking Brady on the play.

In a comical moment, then-Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo threw a touchdown pass to tight end Rob Gronkowski. Typically, Gronkowski celebrates with a ‘Gronk spike.’ Instead, Gronk, unenthusiastically, threw the football down after his touchdown catch, given the Patriots were still down by 28 prior to the point after try.

More importantly, this is the game where the Chiefs took back the Guinness World Record for loudest stadium at 142.2 decibels.
