My Prediction – Chiefs 31, Texans 20

The Chiefs are the better team. They have arguably more talent at most positions on the field in comparison to the Texans. The Chiefs are the hotter team. They’ve won six games in a row, many in blowout fashion. In comparison, the Texans have won four of the last six. You may say that’s not a large discrepancy, but when you consider that all of their wins were by an average of less than four points and their two losses were major blowouts that stretch actually seems somewhat concerning.

The Chiefs have the better quarterback. There may be some contention here, especially in Texas, but the truth of the matter is Mahomes is still objectively the best pro-style quarterback in the NFL. Watson isn’t far behind but the order is set. Finally, they have the better and more accomplished coach. There’s not really an argument here. Andy Reid is a top-five coach in the NFL, Bill O’Brien is probably a top-10 coach.

I’ve said these things a lot this season, but I’ve said them because usually they are the most important factors when two teams play. This is especially true for the playoffs, and it’s why the Vegas spread is so large. The Chiefs should win this game, and win this game handily. The only team that can beat the Chiefs on Sunday is themselves, and I don’t expect that to happen.

Chiefs need to avoid offensive complacency to win. dark. Next
