Overall synopsis

If no one loses, this becomes extremely boring for everyone until the playoffs are actually underway. However, if the Chiefs are to beat both the Bears and Chargers and the Patriots are to lose one of their games, they get a bye week and the 2nd seed. That being said, Houston is still hovering around. If both the Chiefs and the Patriots drop a game, the Texans become the two seed if they win out.

It is extremely unclear how this season is going to end, but it seems entirely possible that the Chiefs, who are on a roll, win their last two games and the Patriots lose to a team like the Bills. If that happens, it allows the team a week off for rest and preparation. It is possible for the Chiefs to get this luxury.
