Chiefs vs. Broncos injury report: Frank Clark, Noah Fant questionable for Week 15
By Matt Conner
The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos are without some key contributors heading into their Week 15 matchup at Arrowhead Stadium.
The final injury reports have been released and the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos are both without some key contributors heading into the teams’ matchup at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 15.
The Denver Broncos must be worried about a couple key injuries in particular, knowing that both right guard Ronald Leary and right tackle Ju’Wuan James were both designated out for the game on Sunday, meaning that the Chiefs improving pass rush will be facing backups on the entire right side. At least the Broncos are used to recovering from such losses, as James has only been active for three games in 2019.
In this instance, the news that Frank Clark is questionable for the Chiefs means that the defensive end might continue to feast in the face of a stomach illness that forced him to be hospitalized earlier this week. At the very least, the replacements will be in the spotlight on a line that already has other problem spots (e.g. Garrett Bolles).
The Chiefs have a potential hole of their own with the loss of both cornerback Rashad Fenton and Morris Claiborne for the second straight game with hamstring and shoulder injuries, respectively. The Chiefs are going into the competition with only three healthy corners—Kendall Fuller, Charvarius Ward, and Bashaud Breeland—although Tyrann Mathieu can play versatile roles enough to help cover. The Chiefs also have Alex Brown on the active roster as an option, so inactives lists will be something to watch pre-game.
The Broncos will also be missing defensive end Adam Gotsis, who is declared out with a knee injury. Dre’Mont Jones, another defensive end, is questionable for the game.
It should also be noted that rookie tight end Noah Fant is questionable to play for Denver after suffering hip and foot injuries in the last week. He was out of practice entirely on Wednesday and was able to participate in a limited fashion toward the week’s end. His pre-game designation will be something to watch for fantasy owners as well as Broncos fans.
The Broncos and Chiefs kick things off at Arrowhead at 12:00 p.m. C.T. on Sunday.
