Two AFC West rivals with decidedly different directions of momentum clash on Thursday Night Football to open the NFL’s Week 7.

Thursday Night Football is all about a clash of momentum in NFL’s Week 7. The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos come into the game with the temporary and long-term momentum flowing in different directions.

In the short-term, the Broncos have won two straight and now have the chance to really right the ship with the division leading Chiefs at home on primetime. They’re catching the Chiefs at the ideal time as the AFC West leaders deal with numerous players injured. As for K.C., Andy Reid‘s team is not only wounded but they’re dragging after losing consecutive home games to the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans. They are opposite of the Broncos this month at 0-2 and could find their early division lead lost by day’s end.

That said, the long-term momentum couldn’t be any more different. The first full month of the season featured a 4-0 Chiefs team and a 0-4 Broncos team headed in different directions. The Chiefs have also won 7 straight games against Denver, after the Broncos won 7 straight against the Chiefs. The entire history here between these teams is incredibly streaky and now both teams come in with a bit of newfound momentum in varied directions. Will it continue?
