Geneo Grissom, DE

Another former Patriot free agent, who is also a Kansas native, is defensive end Geneo Grissom. The former standout defensive end and tight end for Hutchinson High School played his college ball at Oklahoma.

Grissom was a third round pick the 2015 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots where he played defensive end for three years before becoming a free agent. Grissom appeared in 34 games for New England from 2015-2017.

In 2018 he spent part of the season in New England where he appeared in four games and then signed with Indianapolis after being cut. During the offseason he signed with New Orleans but was released at the end of August when the Saints go to their final 53.

Grissom fits that Spags DE mold at 6’4, 265 lbs. and provides depth for the team, though he would struggle to be a substantial contributor. He also has experience in the playoffs with New England that would be valuable for Kansas City’s relatively young defensive front.
