Denver Broncos

Oh my lord an implosion by the Donkeys is exactly what I needed on this Monday. Could this team go 0-16? Anything is possible and this almost seems likely.

The Broncos hosted the Jacksonville Jaguars, led by NFL legend Gardner Minshew. Minshew Mania has taken over the NFL and it took over Mile High on Sunday. The Broncos kept this game close with excellent touchdowns from rookie tight end Noah Fant and wide receiver Courtland Sutton, but the aging arm of Joe Flacco was not enough to stave off Uncle Rico. The Jaguars drove down the field, down one point, and ultimately scored a last minute field goal to give them a 26-24 win over the Broncos.

One encouraging note from the game is that the Broncos finally recorded their first sacks of the season, but that was overshadowed by the news that defensive end Bradley Chubb tore his ACL. He continued to play through it on Sunday and only realized the issue when he woke up on Monday. Chubb is scheduled to have surgery but he is out for the rest of the year. It’s yet another blow to a drowning Donkeys squad. Inside linebacker Josey Jewell also reaggravated a hamstring injury during the game. No news on the severity at this point.

Next week, the Broncos travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers. What is there to say at this point that hasn’t already been said? The Broncos are a bad team. Flacco is not the answer at quarterback, their defense is aging, and their offensive weapons aren’t stepping up. Revolts are coming and Chris Harris Jr. has let his unhappiness show.

It does not look good for this Broncos team and I anticipate they will drop to 0-5 on the year with the remainder of their schedule only getting more difficult.

Opening line odds for the Broncos in Week 5: +6.5.

Game time is 3:05 p.m. C.T.
