The Kansas City Chiefs will face a banged-up Detroit Lions team on the road who will be without Darius Slay and Danny Amendola.

The upside for the Detroit Lions is that quarterback Matthew Stafford will end up starting Sunday’s game against the visiting Kansas City Chiefs. The downside is that they will be without several other key players as they hope to stay undefeated after Week 4.

The Lions have officially listed cornerback Darius Slay as inactive after word that the talented pass defender was questionable coming into today’s game. The Lions were already without defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand and Mike Daniels coming into the game, and they’re joined among the team’s inactives by veteran wide receiveri Danny Amendola.

The Lions have already put up very impressive wins over the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles on the year to go to 2-0-1 through three weeks. The Chiefs are also unbeaten at 3-0 with wins over the Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars. The Lions would represent one of the bigger games on the schedule to date, although things get considerably tougher from here on out, starting next week with the Indianapolis Colts.

The Chiefs will be without several key players as well, although the team has known about their absences for quite some time. Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill has sat out the season except for the first quarter of the opening game with a sternoclavicular injury. Eric Fisher had surgery for a sports hernia and remains out for the next few weeks. Running back Damien Williams is still on the mend but could return in the next week or so.
