The Chicago Bears are looking for some offensive line help early in the season, and two former Chiefs linemen were among the invited to work out.

The Chicago Bears are looking to address some issues of depth along the team’s offensive line and, according to reporter Brad Biggs, they’ve invited four offensive linemen to work out for the team. Among the four are two familiar faces to Kansas City Chiefs fans: offensive linemen Parker Ehinger and Dino Boyd.

The Bears also brought in Brandon Hitner and Jaryd Jones-Smith on Monday and no further news was available, as of press time, as to whether or not any of them were signed by general manager Ryan Pace.

Ehinger was a former fourth round draft pick of the Chiefs back in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Chiefs, led by former GM John Dorsey, selected back to back picks of Ehinger and safety Eric Murray. Ehinger won a starting spot at guard immediately as a rookie but injuries cut his freshman campaign in the NFL short and he never fully recovered—at least on the depth chart.

A torn ACL and MCL took him out for his first season and he was largely inactive for the next year as well despite being healthy. The team then traded Ehinger shortly before the 2018 season began to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for rookie cornerback Charvarius Ward. Ehinger was unfortunately injured early last season as well and ended up on IR with Dallas.

As for Boyd, he was a rookie free agent signed by the Chiefs this offseason who wasn’t able to overcome the depth along the interior enough to make the active roster, especially after Jeff Allen re-signed. Boyd’s had a couple tryouts since losing his role, including one with the Jets, so it’s clear he’s within view of several teams in case of injuries or issues.

Interestingly enough, both Ehinger and Boyd are products of the University of Cincinnati.
