Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman made us all cry with a video of him buying his mom a brand new house.
These are the sorts of stories we love to hear/share.
Mecole Hardman is much wealthier than he was a few months ago, since being selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. When general manager Brett Veach decided to trade up five spots to No. 56 overall, he cemented the professional and financial future for the former Georgia wide receiver. Now we know what Hardman has decided to do with at least a significant part of his newfound buying power.
Via an excellent new video posted by Hardman himself on Twitter on Thursday, the rookie wideout unveiled a brand new house for his mom. As he posted, “It’s my turn to take care of you now.”
Hardman brings family and friends with plenty of balloons to accompany the event and the end result is pretty emotional. Check it out below:
Hardman has a legitimate chance to make significant noise this season, even in his rookie year, for Andy Reid and the Chiefs offense. As an electric returner, it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see Hardman get instant reps on kickoff returns depending on how the competition with Tremon Smith turns out. In addition, he could also steal punt return opps from Tyreek Hill if the Chiefs wanted to keep Hill fresh for offense-only.
In addition, Hardman adds another deep threat for Patrick Mahomes to find in partnership with Hill, Sammy Watkins, Travis Kelce and more. It should be another great year for the Chiefs offense, and if Hardman can find a significant role within it, there might be plenty more videos like this in the near future.
