E.J. Manuel leaves Kansas City Chiefs for ACC Network broadcast job

Quarterback E.J. Manuel recently left a chance to try to make the Kansas City Chiefs final roster, and he revealed his newest job offer on Wednesday.
For a while this offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs had a former high draft pick looking to turn around his fortunes on most areas of the roster, including a spot at quarterback with the presence of E.J. Manuel. In recent weeks, however, Manuel decided to pack it in and retire from the NFL with no announcement about what was next. On Wednesday, Manuel revealed his next step.
Manuel took to social media to reveal his latest job: a broadcasting gig with the ACC Network, a familiar home given his career as a starting quarterback with the Florida State Seminoles. You can see the video for his announcement here:
“Hey Florida State fans, E.J. Manuel here,” says Manuel in the video. “I’ll be joining the ACC Network this fall, so I’m back, connected to the ACC, and extremely excited to be a part of the ACC Network family and obviously getting a chance to talk about our Seminoles. So I’m looking forward to the season and I’ll be seeing you guys soon. Go Noles!”
Manuel is most famous for being a former first round pick of the Buffalo Bills in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was the first quarterback taken in one of the worst overall draft classes in league history, and his four-year career featured largely forgettable performances and an abysmal 6-12 record. He spent last season with the Oakland Raiders backing up Derek Carr before signing this offseason with the Chiefs in a hopeful role to turn heads behind Patrick Mahomes with Andy Reid as his new coach.
Manuel had 47 touchdown passes and 28 interceptions in his career with the Florida State Seminoles.
