Offensive Lineman. Alabama. Jonah Williams. player. 87. Scouting Report. 16. Pick Analysis

Carolina Panthers

To protect Cam Newton and become more efficient on offense, the Panthers must continue investing in their offensive line. Williams is the second best lineman in the draft and can play inside or out. That kind of versatility and upside would make it difficult for the Panthers to pass on.

Scouting Report. Cornerback. player. 17. 31. Pick Analysis. LSU. Greedy Williams

New York Giants

The Giants are going to do a hard reset on both sides of the ball at some point. After selecting their quarterback of the future in Drew Lock, selecting a cornerstone position on defense would make a lot of sense. Greedy Williams may be the best pure cover corner in this year’s class. Even with questions of effort and attitude, Williams may be a steal for the Giants at pick 17.

Scouting Report. EDGE. Montez Sweat. player. 18. 124. Pick Analysis. Mississippi State

Kansas City Chiefs (TRADE UP from Minnesota Vikings)

I would not be at all surprised to see Montez Sweat fall and the Chiefs move up to take him. While I have questions about his bend and ability to disengage from blockers, this would be the most Brett Veach/Steve Spagnuolo move ever. For Veach, aggressiveness is all part of the draft process and for Spagnuolo, long and strong is the name of the game. While Sweat may be off the board at this time, I fully expect Veach to consider a move-up for the athletic and lengthy edge from Mississippi State if he’s around—even if K.C. has to surrender considerable draft capital.

19. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Marquise Brown. Wide Receiver. Oklahoma. 35

Tennessee Titans

The Titans are going to do everything that they can to give Marcus Mariota the benefit of the doubt. For their offense, a lack of a true playmaker has plagued their production—at least until Corey Davis develops. Many mock drafts have Marquise Brown as the first receiver off the board. He is a home run hitter with his speed, but can also make great catches in the middle of the field. For Tennessee, a reliable pass-catcher is the way to go in the first round and precisely what I expect them to do.

20. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Safety. 55. Florida. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers will be in the market for defensive backs. After several seasons of struggling for the defensive backfield, a versatile, ultimate chess piece like Gardner-Johnson would provide a much needed spark to Pittsburgh’s overall defense alongside new signings like Steven Nelson and Mark Barron.
