A new poll from Monday Morning Quarterback shows that numerous NFL teams are considered better overall places to play than K.C.
They aren’t the Dallas Cowboys. The good news, however, is that they aren’t the Buffalo Bills.
As the pendulum swings back and forth between the NFL cities that players want to be the most and least, those are the present extremes. Many players love the facilities, the tax situation, the weather, and the tradition of Dallas. And they pretty much hate all of those things about Buffalo.

As for the Kansas City Chiefs? They are stuck in the middle of a recent poll conducted by Monday Morning Quarterback. In an anonymous survey of 15 NFL agents, MMQB’s Robert Klemko asked them to consider the best and worst places to play if money were equal. The Chiefs ended up squarely in the middle with only a single vote to their name. Fortunately that one vote, was on the positive end.
Per Klemko, only two teams failed to garner any votes either way, the ultimate middling teams. Which is a bit surprising given that the Chicago Bears are one such franchise. (The Carolina Panthers were the other.)
The end results are a bit surprising given the Chiefs recent run of success. The franchise is one of the NFL’s better models of stability and has a future Hall of Fame coach in place in Andy Reid with the NFL’s most dynamic young quarterback and reigning MVP in Patrick Mahomes. That itself should be enough for many players to want to come and join a team with such a strong window of contention.
Even more, the Chiefs have always been a classy organization ran by one of the most respected NFL owners/owner’s families around. Arrowhead Stadium is always plenty loud, and the fans are known for their strong support. It’s also a community in which many players end up settling after their playing days are over.
There is, however, nothing the Chiefs can do about being a beachside destination like the Miami Dolphins or L.A. Rams. They also can’t do anything to ease the tax burden. Even with the greatest winning culture in NFL history, the New England Patriots themselves received only 3 total positive votes, ranking 9th overall. With that in mind, maybe even a Super Bowl appearance wouldn’t affect things too much.
