The 2019 NFL Combine is wrapping up on Monday. Here are several offensive standouts that the Kansas City Chiefs should consider in the NFL Draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs, along with the rest of the NFL world, descended on Indianapolis this weekend for the 2019 NFL Combine.

For fans of the NFL Draft, the combine is a chance to get a closer look at most of the draft prospects. Who will run well? Who will not? Who looks like a freak athlete and who will raise red flags about their ability to compete at the NFL level? It’s an exciting time for draft diehards that often leads to some prospects that nobody was talking about suddenly getting everyone’s attention. That was definitely the case again this year.

Now, let me start this post off by unequivocally stating that no player should ever be drafted because of their combine performance. If a player’s tape didn’t make anyone think they should be a first round pick then they shouldn’t suddenly become one overnight because they ran fast or did a bunch of bench press reps. That having been said, it is a chance for guys that were seen as late or mid-round prospects to make scouts go back and take a closer look at their tape if they test better than their peers at the position.

Since the defense hasn’t finished up yet (as I write this) I am going to focus on the offense this week. I am going to specifically focus on the three skill positions where I believe the Chiefs could be looking to add quality depth and competition: running back, wide receiver, and tight end.

I am also going to focus on guys that weren’t already big names and viewed as first-round talents going into the draft. Yes, guys like D.K. Metcalf and the two Iowa tight ends had great performances, but most people already know about them and there’s a good chance that they won’t even be available when the Chiefs make their first selection. Instead, I am focusing on guys that had a great combine and could be options for K.C. in the second round and later.

Let’s get things started with some running backs that had an excellent combine.
