Keith Reaser and other players of the Kansas City Chiefs continue to excel as the Alliance of American football puts its third week in the rearview

The Alliance of American Football has now finished its third week, and it seems to be keeping a steady flow of fans at the games and watching on TV. The interest for year round football has always been there, but the product that has been provided has not always been great. The AAF so far has put forth a better product than what we have gotten in the past, and that has kept fans coming back for more, and is also what probably lead you to this article.

Some former Kansas City Chiefs players are a big reason for this interest. The biggest name that we continue to talk about each week is Keith Reaser who currently is leading the pack as the best player in the AAF through the first three weeks according to Pro Football Talk. Hopefully, Brett Veach is looking to bring Reaser back into the fold after the AAF season has concluded. Other than Reaser there are a few other players that stood out this week that deserved to be recognized.

Mike Purcell, DT, Salt Lake Stallions

The Chiefs have brought in plenty of defensive linemen over the years so no one would blame you if Mike Purcell does not ring a bell. Purcell spent some time with the Chiefs during training camp this year and so far had not made any noise in the AAF. His performance this week though was his best yet as he recorded a sack and batted down a pass. Purcell has logged at least one tackle per game this season and may be able to improve that as the Stallions are starting to gel together.

Andrew Tiller, OG, Orlando Apollos

Andrew Tiller has spent time with multiple NFL teams as he bounced around the league. He spent time in training camp with the Chiefs during the 2017 offseason but was released soon after the start of the year. Tiller was able to latch on with the Apollos and has been a solid guard for them, earning a spot on PFF’s team of the week. Tiller is only the second left guard to appear on the list after beating out Kitt O’Brien this week.

De’Vante Bausby, CB, San Antonio Commanders

De’Vante Bausby may be a name that some fans remember. He joined Kansas City as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and was apart of the team until he broke his collarbone before the season started. Bausby has bounced around and spent time with both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears. Since joining the Commanders, Bausby has snagged two interceptions, including one this week against the San Diego Fleet. He currently leads the team in interceptions and will be looking to build upon that total when he faces off against the Birmingham Iron.
